Sports Buzz After beating the No. 1 player in the world yesterday, Murray is facing Federer today in the finals of the U.S. Open. Murray, a Scotsman, pulled off the year’s biggest tennis upset in his victory against Nadal, and has a 2-1 record against Federer. Update: He lost in straight sets.
He’s the hottest male tennis player, in multiple senses. With a Gold Medal at the Olympics and wins at the French Open and Wimbledon behind him, Nadal’s headed to New York soon for the U.S. Open. New York Magazine put him, topless, on the back of their current fashion issue.
Sports Buzz After five sets and several rain delays, the 22 year old Spaniard beat five-time champion Roger Federer to win Wimbledon in one of the longest, most gripping games in the history of tennis. Unflappable John McEnroe was so visibly moved by the results that he offered Federer a hug live on air, which is like watching a grizzly bear shopping for tampons.
