Culture Buzz Check out the teaser for “Prison Dancer,” a Web musical based on the Internet-famed inmates from the Philippines.
Culture Buzz This is the same Ai Weiwei who was arrested by the Chinese government for his human rights activism, so, yeah…how dare he not be more involved. From an MSNBC live chat with the outspoken artist, who still faces threat of imprisonment for his struggle against the repressive regime. A commenter named Angelina didn't think Ai was sufficiently reverential in his response about OWS. This is infuriating.
Culture Buzz Anders Behring Breivik is probably having a nice laugh about the fact that he'll be serving his time in one of the cushiest penal systems in the world. (via newser.com)

Culture Buzz California convict Earl Lee Vogt is being charged with smuggling contraband into prison, contraband his jailers believe was “keystered.” Vogt raised suspicions when he complained to guards that, “My ass is bleeding.” Here are the keystered items which may have prompted such discomfort. While this is an impressive score, Vogt still trails this woman in the hotly contest sport of cavity smuggling.

A late night Cinemax film waiting to happen.
Since Friday morning, three volunteers have been spending a week in recreated 8x10 solitary “cells,” sharing their experience via live web cam and Tweets, as a complement to a National Geographic show about solitary confinement. My money's on Laura…or at least she's been most entertaining to watch.

Culture Buzz This pigeon was caught by Colombian prison guards with a tiny suitcase of cell phone parts on its back. You crazy bird! Every day they get smarter. By my calculations, we have about 9.5 months before they conquer the human race and turn their bird eyes towards the robots.

McCain gaffed today and addressed a campaign event audience as “my fellow prisoners”. Woopsies, we’re not in Hanoi anymore, are we Cindy? He was talking about domestic policies or something, and clearly didn’t intend that Freudian slip. Naptime! Thanks, Jack!
Culture Buzz Fascinating daily blog by a nameless inmate currently serving a life sentence in the Texas Penitentiary. He updates the blog daily with the help of a friend on the outside. The way it works is he hand writes and mails 5 posts once a week to a friend outside of the jail. His friend then types out a post for each day that week. You can post comments or e-mail the blog and the friend will mail all of them back to the inmate who can then respond to you through the blog.
Celebrity Buzz Lindsay’s papa Michael is ambiguously confirming one Montana woman’s claims that, while separated from Dina, he fathered Ashley, now thirteen. Michael allegedly wrote Ashley letters from prison, signing them with “Love, Daddy” despite his never having met her. This might give Joey Buttafucco stiff competition in the “Long Island’s Finest” department.
