Consider a career as a polar bear keeper if you like what you see. Or if you're insane.
Culture Buzz Check out these ridiculously cute pictures of 4-month-old “Vicks” making his debut at the Rotterdam Zoo. (PS. RIP KNUT. WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.)
Knut, the world's most famous (now ex-) polar bear, is suddenly and inexplicably dead. [Jack's note: Almost makes you think that maybe there are more suitable places for polar bears to thrive than German zoos.] RIP, Knut.
A polar bear performs a sexy dance for a potential mate. This polar bear is totally gonna put out.
The BBC sent a fleet of camo cameras to spy on the polar bears inhabiting the Norweigen archipelago of Svalbard. But while they were built to withstand temperatures as low as -40C, in the end most could not cope with the curiosity displayed by their subjects. (Via.)
Culture Buzz If dogs and polar bears can make peace in this world, perhaps there's hope for the Middle East. Much like the polar bear's natural habitat, this will melt your heart. Although, for every one of these playful encounters, there's probably hundreds of bear-savaged dog carcasses out there.
Major points for creativity. The Toronto Zoo is selling a “color”-ing book about polar bears. It includes 5 crayons in shades of white - “snowball white, polar white, frost white, igloo white, and Arctic white” so that you can blankly scribble away a blizzard of wax to your heart's content. And the best part is, no one will see if you color outside the lines.
Culture Buzz July is National Watermelon Month! Enjoy these ridiculously cute pictures of polar bears eating watermelons.
Because this is a Japanese game show, someone thought it would be a good idea to put a cute girl in a polar bear hat and sent her to the zoo. Lesson: when actually going to the wilderness, leave your wilderness trapper hats at home.
This polar bear mother and her cub will likely be able to swim ashore, but seriously guys, global warming sucks.
It's not another cat video… it's a baby polar bear!!!! All together now - Awwwwwwwww!

Now you know how polar bears are made. This is a baby one that isn't fully formed yet.
A polar bear inadvertently sticks his head through the window (of a bus or something??). I like the dopey, perpetually smiling expression on the polar bear's face.
