Sir Paul McCartney has told friends he intends to wed girlfriend Nancy Shevell. In the wake of his high-profile divorce battle with Heather Mills, Sir Paul asked the family of his first wife, Linda, for their blessing — which they gave him.
Music Buzz A long-rumored Beatles track called Carnival of Light does in fact exist, and Sir Paul McCartney wants the world to hear it! It's said to be over 14 minutes long and features organ sounds, gargling and Beatles members shouting things like “Barcelona!” and “Are you all right?”. Awesome.
Celebrity Buzz The former Beatle and current PETA ambassador was furious to learn that pictures of he and his bandmates were displayed at a Liverpool McDonald’s, soon afterwards urging fans to boycott the fast food giant. Meanwhile, Ringo got really excited when he saw a picture of himself displayed at a Delaware Applebee’s, until he realized it was Yassar Arafat.
Culture Buzz A Hard Day’s Night is the new four-star Beatles-themed hotel in Liverpool and features 110 individually designed bedrooms, including the specially created Lennon and McCartney suites. This is definitely on the high-design, luxurious end of the weird hotel trend. If you can’t afford to stay at the Beatles Hotel for your honeymoon (and at up to $1300 per night, who can?), there’s always The Dog Bark Park Inn.
