Prima Donna
Music Buzz Singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright has put the kibosh on plans to stage his first opera, Prima Donna, at New York’s Metropolitan Opera after they insisted his production be sung in English rather than French. The Montreal-born musician is planning on unveiling the production — which also contains a song penned by wunderkind Nico Muhly — at The Manchester International Festival in 2009.
