His message is basically: eat like a pregnant woman, and you’ll win Olympic gold. Next thing we know, he’ll be announcing an endorsement of those weird new pasta dishes they have at Pizza Hut.
Sports Buzz The olympic gold medalist and world record-holder has positioned himself as an advocate and ambassador of swimming for reluctant black children. He’s only the third African-American swimmer to make the U.S. Olympic squad. So far, it seems like the sport of swimming manages to attract a lot of atypical, anomalous athletes (see also: Natalie du Toit, Dara Torres, and Laure Manaudou).
Sports Buzz The 19-year-old just set the world record for the 400-meter individual medley at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials. She used to hold the world record, but Australian Stephanie Rice beat it in March. No doubt that fancy Speedo suit is helping.

Update: She wins two more silver to finish the games! At 41-years-old, Dara Torres not only qualified for the Olympics but she also managed to break the American record in the process. Now she is the new idol and inspiration for millions middle aged Americans. I guess there is life after 40! Who knew?
