Our choice of video games, like music and film, say a lot about who we are. Some people like to take this form of self-expression and run with it! These creative “soles” use video games as their inspiration in foot-forward fashion.

My butt is big and round like the letter “C”. Believe it or not, this is the new ad campaign Nike has released for their butt-toning sneakers, and it’s rather excellent.

I appreciate what Nike is trying to do for women in this ad…but I don’t know any woman who would refer to her ass as a space heater, embassador, or border collie. That’s just giving it too much credit.

With all the arguments over the last few days about dates in Back to the Future, I think we all need to take a step back. I’m fairly certain any fan of the movies is impatiently waiting for Self Lacing Shoes and they’re almost here! Sure, they’re not very practical but it’s a start, 2015 is still 5 years away. Next up: hoverboards! Come on Mattel!

In support of the World Cup, Nike hijacked Johannesburg’s biggest skyscraper and installed the world’s largest interactive LED screen. People chose their favorite players and wrote a message, and both were projected in realtime across the building. Did the vuvuzela just get stomped out for the ultimate sign of World Cup fandom?

Nike made a 3-minute ad film to convince you to watch the World Cup and buy their products, in that order. Despite the conspicuous lack of boxer briefs, it’s fun and vaguely effective. It also has famous people (Federer, Kobe, The Queen) if you need that.

Not a single study has ever shown that fancy running shoes make you less prone to injury. In fact they may make you MORE likely to hurt yourself. And the more expensive they are the worse they are for your feet.

Next month, Nike will release the “Glen Quagmire Nike SB Dunk High” inspired by Quagmire’s clothes on Family Guy. The blue matches his jeans while the gold star pattern represents his stylin’ button-up shirt. Giggity awesome.

Kobe Bryant sells Ankle Insurance atop a horse in this viral vid for Nike. Regardless of it being an advertisement, it’s still entertaining. Bryant is quickly becoming the top athlete viral video star, if that means anything.

Some are interpreting Nike’s latest ad campaign as anti-gay. The ads feature photos of basketball players in somewhat homoerotic poses with phrases like “that ain’t right”. Nike intended for the ads to represent the embarrassment a basketball player feels when getting dunk’d on, but some people are outraged.

The fictional shoe worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future is being released by Nike sometime in July. It seems someone finally told Nike that they already make this shoe and that all they need to do is give the Kobe Bryant-backed Hyperdunk a different paint job. Maybe we really are living in the future (despite the lack of flying cars, and the coveted hoverboard.)
