Hotel for Dogs is an avant garde German art film about a family of nihilist Rottweilers who confront the absurdity of their own existence in a deserted hovel in the steppes of darkest Siberia. Faced with the realization that life is nasty, brutish, and short, and that meaning is relative and thus untenable, and that they are hotel-dwelling canines, they must grasp at the only thing that makes life bearable - each other.
