Culture Buzz That's not a rat, that's a destroyer of worlds. This obscenely large rodent, thought to actually be a coypu or nutria, was discovered near the home of Brian Watson in the U.K. town of Consett. It was 4-feet-long and so heavy it snapped in half the paddle you see in the photo.
Culture Buzz CDs suddenly don't seem so obsolete when artist Sean Avery reassembles them as beautiful, (literally) reflective pieces of art. His ability to create the texture of fur and feathers using nothing but recycled materials is not only impressive but visually striking. Unfortunately trying to pet any of these animals would probably yield to a whole lot of band-aids. (via seaneavery.com)

Culture Buzz Thalassophobia is fear of the sea, and over the years it's pushed forward some interesting (and terrifying) images of what people think might lurk in the depths. Never going swimming again. Ever.
Two things about this video: First, the 20 second pictures-of-cats.org intro is epic and amazing. Second, look at the size of that fucking cat.
It's being called a “carnivorous mammal with wings” in Argentina, but your guess is as good as mine. And I think it's a devil monkey fairy.

Very scary looking sign next to the beach that warns would-be swimmers of the dangers ahead.
It’s Garfield Minus Garfield with that the dead monster that washed ashore playing the role of Jon. It’s lovely when internet memes collide.
