In 1969 PBS faced losing federal funding as a consequence of budget cuts proposed by President Richard Nixon. Fred Rogers appeared before the Senate Subcommittee on Communications to argue on behalf of the network and his show, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.
PBS has just announced an animated spinoff of ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood’ called ‘Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.’ It’s going to be about the kids of the original characters including the 4-year-old son of the original Tiger. Get excited. (via nymag.com) View List ›
