POLITICS BUZZ: Joe Wurzelbacher had some nasty things to say about John McCain on radio host Glenn Beck's show today. Joe, who apparently still exists, claims that he was appalled by some of the things that McCain said and that the experience of campaigning with McCain made him feel “dirty.” The only reason he stuck around was that he hated Barack Obama even more.

You could probably do this to just about any politician who’s used to repeating the same talking points, but it’s still pretty incredible to watch. Some impressive (and painstaking) video editing that peaks with a chorus of McCains saying, “My friends”.

CBS News: Police sources are saying that “a campaign worker has now confessed to making up a story that a mugger attacked her and cut the letter ‘B’ in her face after seeing her McCain bumper sticker.” The story broke in the press two days ago and was all over the news, but police said there were inconsistencies with her story. She has since confessed that it was a total lie, and is facing charges.

POLITICS BUZZ: McCain’s incessant use of the phrase “my friends”, has a growing number of people announcing that they are in fact Not McCain’s Friend . It’s a hot political topic across the Twitter universe right now, and the Washington Post is calling it “McCain’s tic”. All in all, he said it 22 freaking times in last night’s debate, which also just so happens to be the number of letters in the Hebrew alphabet. Playing to the Jews, are we McCain? Conspiracy Alert!

SCIENCE BUZZ: In the first presidential debate, John McCain cited a bear DNA study as an example of pork barrel spending. He seemed also to imply a hatred of bears. The bear project in Montana, as it turns out, isn’t a pork product, and even the numbers he quoted were wrong. Nonetheless, his dislike of bears remains.

Chris Matthews takes on Clintons for Mccain founder Cristi Adkins at the Democratic National Convention. This woman makes a claim about Obama’s past, but when Matthews asks her to cite her sources, she simply replies “I’m not telling.” I’m sure if Matthews promised to take her out for ice cream after, she might have budged.
