The first panoramic picture from Curiosity’s spot on Mars, an exciting new short film about the landing, Curiosity rebuilt in Legos by one of its real engineers, and Bobak the Mohawk guy hangs out at NPR… Science!
Not everyone was excited about Curiosity’s flawless landing. An easy way to shut down naysayers on your social media platforms.
Nice job, Internet.
NASA experts explain the 7 minutes of terror for Curiosity and how the Mars landing could have been a disaster. Schrödinger’s robot!

NASA has set up a live stream of this seminal event and it is fascinating. The rover is set to land on Mars at 1:31 AM ET today, Monday. Watch the mission live on NASA’s stream.
So awesome.

A 7-year-old named Julian found out the Spirit Mars rover was stuck, and sent this idea to fix it. NASA is so impressed that they’re trying the idea and sending him an award for ingenuity. As if that weren’t outrage enough, they’re also naming the next rover “Curiosity,” on the suggestion of a sixth-grader. Awesome work, NASA. Don’t come crying to me when the Russkies win the space race. View Image ›
