M.I.A.'s crusade against Sri Lankan genocide and her use of images associated with a separatist group has rankled a bunch of people back home. MUSIC BUZZ: M.I.A. announced her retirement from the music industry at Bonnaroo on June 13th. The recently engaged 30-year-old rapper canceled her European tour due to exhaustion, and has now confirmed that she will be ending her music career all together. In the past M.I.A. has expressed desires to get out of the music industry to focus her energy on art and launching her own clothing line , but now its official; M.I.A. will be MIA from our boomboxes.
