The web is good for many things; among those, there is its weird, innate ability to hoodwink people. Long before Lonelygirl15 or the advent of Rick Rolling, the web was a place of intrigue, mystery, and elaborate pranks. Here are the more recent additions to this hallowed tradition.
Music Buzz An internet meme completes its full logical loop. Rick Astley has finally commented on the phenomenon of Rick Rolling, the internet prank of misdirecting people to a YouTube video of Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up. His take: "It's a bit spooky, innit?"
Tech Buzz In what she insists is not a plea for attention, Jane blogs the final 90 days before she takes her own life. What happened to the good ol' days when an Internet sensation involved dyslexic kittens and lesbian scat porn?
Culture Buzz We figured it was time for a round-up of funny/weird fake Craigslist ads. Are fake Craigslist ads still funny? We suppose they provide fun side entertainment while cruising around for a couch, or a girlfriend.
Culture Buzz Apparently, one of the Internet fads is to misleadingly link to something, purposely directing poor users to Rick Astley's music video for "Never Gonna Give You Up." Personally, we think there are better ways to get pwned.
Culture Buzz The irresistible attraction of tricking and being tricked. Hundreds of websites participate and normally sensible people are hatching plots to deceive their loved ones. Nobody really likes April Fools' Day but somehow it's impossible to resist. For example, can you resist clicking the suspect links below!?
