  • Uncomfortable Interview On BBC About UK Riots

Darcus Howe, a writer and broadcaster who has lived in London for 50 years, gets into it with a BBC reporter over the rioting that’s engulfed England. Howe calls the riots an “insurrection” and is repeatedly interrupted by the reporter (who keeps calling him “Marcus Dowe”) when talking about the abuse of young black men by British police. In exasperation he eventually exclaims, “Show some respect for an old West Indian negro.” (via theatlanticwire.com) Watch Video ›
