Culture Buzz Darin Furukawa, a volunteer for the Red Cross in Los Angeles, dressed up as a samurai while gathering donations to aid relief efforts in Japan. Nerdy and noble, all at once. Here are some links where you can also contribute to the cause.
Culture Buzz A collection of artwork attempting to raise money for relief efforts in Japan. Despite all of the tranny taco shop brawls and farting Charlie Sheens, sometimes the internet can do good. Links to the individual artist or fundraising page are provided if you feel like chipping in.
Culture Buzz The residents of Bamiyan, Afghanistan held a vigil in support of Japan. The children, in particular, were eager to offer help. Kids say the darnedest things that melt your heart and reaffirm your faith in humanity.
A simple yet powerful symbol for the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Click on the image for ways you can help with relief efforts.
Culture Buzz Many people are hurt and missing after the catastrophic earthquake and tsunamis in Japan recently. If you have any resources possible, please consider helping out through these organizations.
Culture Buzz This post is about raising awareness for International Homeless Animal Day. Check out this site for ways you can help!!

I asked you guys to do something nice for a stranger and damn if you didn't come through. I figured he get a handful of “keep it ups.” Yesterday the first attempt at a lego movie had 19 views and 1 comment that said “thet sucked.” Today, it has 18,231 views and 1,483 supportive comments. I knew you guys were awesome, I just didn't realize you were THAT awesome. Here's a note from his dad: On behalf of my son, thanks to all the Redditors who sent words of encouragement. You should have seen his face light up when I told him about the comments. As we read the comments together, he just kept getting more excited. Thanks for making his (and my) day! And a thank you from his son (although he should probably stick to lego movies). It's things like this that make me proud to be a part of this community. Thanks Reddit.

Scooby Roo earned her name after losing her two front legs in a car wreck and learning to hop around like a kangaroo. Don't worry, though, she got a custom-made pair of wheels, most likely because she's F*CKING AWESOME. (via)

Firefox 3.5 — code-named Shiretoko — is set to launch on Tuesday, June 30th! How cool would it be if we could set off fireworks worldwide to celebrate? We'd light up the night country by country, town by town, to show the world just how amazing Firefox is. Just like New Year's, only better — since you get to see who “launched” the fireworks. We're going to make a big bang by spreading Firefox with Social Media. And, we need your help!

Hot of the Tweetmeme wire: “Forex Trading Robot makes me $100,000+ Per Year.” A new investment advice program from the internet, obviously failed to contact anyone from the internet when they branded themselves. So if you have a puerile sense of humor, as many web geeks do, reading the word “FAPTurbo” is gving you convulsions. This is just beggin' for some sort of parody.
Celebrity Buzz I keep hearing about “Kabbalah”? What is it? Is it good or bad? I am doing some research but could use your help. Thanks in advance for your comments, thoughts, and resources.
