It may not be called Google Wave, but Google has just quietly debuted Shared Spaces, which uses Google Wave technology to let users create a space with collaborative gadgets. Hopefully Shared Spaces will have a longer life span than its predecessor.

Google doesn’t plan to continue developing Wave as a standalone product, but will maintain the site at least through the end of the year and extend the technology for use in other Google projects.
Only a year after its release, Google Wave has been discontinued.

This looks very cool: Google’s introducing a new form of online communication called the Wave that sort of combines email, IM, updates and sharing online documents.
