MOVIE BUZZ: Milk, a biopic about slain San Francisco supervisor Harvey Milk, who was California’s first openly gay elected official is in the works and will be released 26 November 2008. Considered a Martyr of the gay community, Supervisor Milk will be played by Sean Penn and the film will be directed by Gus Van Sant. Milk’s assassin Dan White will be played by Josh Brolin (not Matt Damon as was rumored) who will get to hone his acting chops by reenacting the famous “Twinkie Defense”.

POLITICS BUZZ: A recent anti-gay tirade from Oklahoma State Representative Sally Kern ended up on YouTube. WHOOPS! Among other left-field remarks, Kern claims “studies show that no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than a few decades.” She failed to mention, of course, that these studies were conducted solely by Sally Kern’s brain, and that their subjects were a tribe of effete leprechauns.
