The hero pilot speaks! He is as cool on national TV as he is in the cockpit.
Behold the remains of the bird that brought down Flight 1549. This feather was found in the plane's engine and “suspiciously bears the gray-black coloration of a Canada goose.”

Atom.com offers you the chance to be a hero — like Sully the pilot. In their Flight 1549 game, Double Bird Strike, try and land your plane into the Hudson while dodging geese who want to get into your engines. Too soon?

Coincidence? [Editor's Note: Does the mysterious Wa3 have anything to do with the US Airways plane crash?]
Science Buzz OK people, this has gone on long enough. There is most definitely an unspoken Humans Versus Birds war going on, and we need to address it head-on. The birds struck first with the Avian Flu. But then, humans struck back with Randy Johnson's 95-mile per hour public bird execution. That'll show them, we thought. But now? Now they're taking down our freaking planes! Run and hide, humans. Run. And. Hide. I have a feeling this is only beginning.
Culture Buzz A US Airways passenger flight just crashed into the Hudson River at 57th street, and the rescue effort is underway. A flock of birds may have hit the plane, disabling both engines. Never underestimate the power of flying geese.
