CULTURE BUZZ: A new, well-received memoir turns out to be a total fake. Margaret Seltzer, writing under the pen name Margaret B. Jones, has admitted that her book, Love and Consequences , is all made up. The Times called the book, which is about growing up in Southern California’s gangland, a “humane and deeply affecting memoir.” But after the author appeared in a profile for the paper’s Home and Garden section, her sister called the Times and spilled the beans.
