SCIENCE BUZZ: A new study finds that tummy fat on women is evolutionarily preferable, corresponding to increased competitiveness and ability to handle stress. Not only is the hourglass figure “out,” but you now have a scientific justification for eating your feelings. My next egg roll is dedicated to Darwin.

CULTURE BUZZ: Spore fans are not happy with the game’s anti-piracy DRM, so they’ve taken their protest to Amazon. Right now, over 1,367 of 1,463 total ratings are just one star, giving the highly anticipated game’s launch an Amazonian black eye.

Richard Dawkins receives a crapton of hate-mail from Creationists. In this video, the heavily accented Dawkins reads the violent and obscene hate-mail he gets on a daily basis. It’s rather f**king enjoyable.

SCIENCE BUZZ: Videos about bananas and peanut butter are the “atheist’s nightmare” because they prove that god exists and evolution is a myth. These videos are hot on YouTube right now but the argument originally comes from Medieval Philosopher St. Thomas Aquinas. Aquinas’ “5th way of proving god” was to point to all the amazing things in nature and say that only god could have made them happen. Personally, I am outraged that some schools in America refuse to teach Medieval science.
