Most art like this is blatantly begging for attention and reeks of superficial meaning and derivative monotony. In the case of DeviantArtist *SSPirate, however, I feel like the combination of strong design choices along with the coloring book aesthetic serve to lend these pieces a charm that one almost wishes they didn’t have based on the subject matter.
DeviantArtist DrFaustusAU thinks the cover art would look like this. I bet “Can You Hum Some Conundrums” would have all kinds of rhymes to help make your scheming Gotham children that much smarter.
