Politics Buzz The $700 billion bailout plan that the world has been awaiting was just rejected by the House of Representatives sending the Dow plunging over 700 points. Voting 228-205 the bill was rejected today despite the desperate need for it. Officials say there will be another attempt to run it through a vote again, though it’s uncertain how soon that will be which just leaves everyone to wonder “What now?”
Politics Buzz An inspiring love story ends in divorce. She nursed her injured Marine to health and married him despite the fact that his face was completely disfigured by the blast from a suicide bomber. Now they are getting divorced. Having a national holiday created to honor your love is probably too much pressure for any marriage to bear.
Celebrity Buzz Heather Locklear is in treatment for depression and severe anxiety. The 46-year-old actress is said to have been suffering from depression since she filed for divorce from rockstar Richie Sambora in 2006. In March, someone called 911 fearing she would commit suicide.
Culture Buzz Wars, famine, buses crashing into banks, blood-sucking flies, high gas prices, floods: Everything looks bad today. Just around the corner from our office, a dump truck crashed into a bus that then crashed into a bank, killing one woman and injuring several others. The week’s off to a good start!
