When Adria Richards was fired for complaining about sexually inappropriate comments at a tech conference the internet erupted. And now it looks like internet activists are attacking the people involved.
Last night hacktivist group Anonymous carried out a massive DDOS attack on multiple government websites, along with the RIAA and MPAA’s websites. We were lucky enough to be sitting in on the 4chan thread as it was happening (NSFW language, obviously).
As part of the ongoing Occupy Wall Street protests, Anonymous has released a new video announcing plans to strike the New York Stock Exchange with a DDoS attack on October 10th. Before you get too excited, the stock market can still function without NYSE.com.
After Sony filed a lawsuit against the guy who hacked the PS3, Anonymous has declared war on Sony. Their first move came today when they took down both Sony and Playstation’s website.
