TV BUZZ: After Comedy Central slashed the budget of The Sarah Silverman Program , the show's future looked bleak until MTV Networks' gay channel, Logo, agreed to co-finance the show. Finally, someone actually funny (although Buzzfeed readers don't necessarily agree ) might dethrone Kathy Griffin as the queen of gay comedy. …Maybe. …Okay, doubtful, but a boy can dream.

TV BUZZ: In the age of Obama, Comedy Central is [finally] trying to capture an African-American audience in this sketch show disguised as a newsmagzine set to air before The Daily Show and The Colbert Report (not bad). Rumor has it that Tyler Perry had to be “forcibly removed” from the set when he learned that his name wasn’t attached to the project. Thank goodness too, because we’ll take Grier’s Maya Angelou over towering nightmare Madea any day. (Also, I made up that rumor.)

TV BUZZ: Kanye West is teaming up with Comedy Central to create a new show described as “Hip hop meets the Muppets”. The show’s being produced by Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Corolla’s Jackhole Productions which also did Crank Yankers. Looks like the puppet music video for Champion gave some desperate Cable TV execs an idea. Unfortunately, Jim Henson was not available, so they settled on Kanye instead.
