“We have been traumatized over and again by the devaluation of Black and Brown lives. We are falling apart.”
Columbia senior Emma Sulkowicz has vowed to carry a mattress around campus until the man who allegedly raped her leaves the school.
“Demand justice and support for all survivors, even as a graduate of this institution,” said an email sent to graduating seniors.
Nearly two dozen students allege that the university discriminated against students with mental health issues and failed to comply with federal laws to ensure equal access to education and respond to reports of sexual assault.
