Cloverfield was the perfect combination of Godzilla, The Blair Witch Project, and Lost. J.J. Abrams lives to create pop culture hype and nobody is better at it than him. The movie was good but the true art was the marketing, the mystery, and the manufactured buzz. He proved to the entire industry that you don’t need a 100 million budget to create a Hollywood blockbuster.
