Movie Buzz You only read really need to read the first one though. Suzanne Collins gets some cool cred in my eyes.
TV Buzz A little-known fact about “Clarissa Explains It All”: Melissa Joan Heart recorded a full album in character as Clarissa called “Clarissa and the Straightjackets.” In it, we learn “This Is What 'Na Na' Means” (actual track title), what Clarissa's likes and dislikes are, and that Clarissa didn't really have the best singing voice — not that it matters!
TV Buzz Nickelodeon's popular decision to show old episodes of Clarissa Explains It All has been deemed lowbrow/despicable by New York Magazine's Approval Matrix. (via nymag.com)
Style Buzz If you watched “Clarissa Explains It All,” in the '90s, you know that her clothes really did explain it all. Here are all the fashion lessons I learned from Clarissa herself.

Apparently they filmed a “Clarissa Explains It All” spin-off series called “Clarissa Now” about Clarissa Darling (Melissa Joan Hart) moving to NYC to do an internship at a newspaper. They only filmed one episode, but luckily it got released somehow. Your life has just been changed.

Does it still hold up to scrutiny? Did it ever?
Style Buzz I just watched a bunch of old MTV's House of Style video clips. Thanks to Leti for pointing out that there's a Kelly Bundy tag on eBay.
TV Buzz So was Scott Wolf (Bailey Salinger) ever on Ally McBeal? Because he's totally the right age — i.e., 41.
TV Buzz The excellent Tumblr Old School Nick has me reminiscing about formative experiences, so here goes. (Note: gripping Nickelodeon game shows such as “Wild and Crazy Kids” and “GUTS” will be addressed in a future post. We're sticking to character development here.) (Second note: this list is entirely subjective, in case you couldn't guess or tell.)
TV Buzz Nickelodeon is now making a handful of its old shows available on iTunes. Before Christine Taylor was “Ben Stiller’s wife,” she was Melody, and anyone born between 1975 and 1985 can firmly attest.
