The folks at PBS's Off Book delve into their history and how cinemagraphs are changing the playing field. One thing this video does not do, however, is agree once and for all how to pronounce them.

The Internet has taken a particular liking to these beautiful images—which straddle the line between a still and a video—and here are some of the best.
