With The Dark Knight Rises set to release in July of this year, Christian Bale is back and looking pretty fine. But there’s something about this method actor that is somewhat unsettling. Maybe it’s the fact that he’s willing to starve himself to the brink of hair loss, or all of those temper tantrums he has on the set of productions.

Excerpts from the alternately hilarious and horrifying e-mail from a jilted investment banker to a woman who would not go on a second date with him, presented by Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman. Read the whole, sad thing here. Typos and creepy stalker language are all his.

Bruce Wayne is the 1%. Photographed over the weekend in Lower Manhattan as Batman meted out non-economic justice.

Definitely the coolest thing I’ve seen all day. Fake? Yes, but still cool.

At least, that’s what it looks like to me. Christian Bale, seen on the set of The Dark Knight Rises this weekend in Pittsburgh, PA, as was Tom Hardy in full costume as Bane.

Aww, they’re holding hands. Implications of Bat and Cat romance? At any rate, it shows Selina Kyle knocking on front door of Wayne Manor. Let the plot speculation commence!

A series of slightly creepy videos have been released as part of the insanely early viral campaign for “The Dark Knight Rises.” They were released on the Youtube channel for The Fire Rises, which is also the name of the Twitter account where the first photo of Bane was found. On top of giving us glimpses of Gotham City in chaos, the videos also reveal a new Facebook page to help hype the next Batman film. You’re killing me with this, Christopher Nolan…just killing me.

Here’s Tom Hardy as Bane, one of Batman’s villains, released through the official website for The Dark Knight Rises. The viral campaign for Christopher Nolan’s next Bat-movie has kicked off more than a year before its release. This is going to be an agonizingly long wait.

A mashup of “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” with the trailer for “The Dark Knight.” It gives me goosebumps. Hopefully those goosebumps are from a thyroid condition, because the alternative is too embarrassing to admit.

Artist Jesse Lonergan did an adorable series of illustrations depicting geek culture icons dancing jigs. Characters from the Batman, Spider-Man and Star Wars universes are all getting freaky.

Last minute, Best Picture-themed suggestions for your Oscars Party spread. Don’t just serve James Franco-American SpaghettiOs or Black Swanson TV dinners, make your guests some fancy 127 Hours d’oeuvres! Winter’s Bone appetit! Ugh. Suggest your own awful food-related-Academy-Awards-puns in the comments!

A slew of amateur art from eager bat-fans who can’t wait until the release of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Some of these were made before any official announcements regarding the film, so you have a few featuring villains who won’t be in the film (Harley Quinn and The Riddler) and a few with villains who are still rumored to be in the film (Hugo Strange and Black Mask). For the record, only Bane and Catwoman have been confirmed.

Christopher Nolan announced today that Anne Hathaway will be playing Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. He also revealed that Tom Hardy will be playing Bane, not Hugo Strange as had been speculated. For non-nerds, Bane is a villain who derives super-strength from experimental drugs, best known for breaking Bruce Wayne’s spine in the Batman comics.

Hands down the funniest trailer of the year. I wish this was real. [Ed Note: Honestly, the premise may be a little thin for a full-length film. But we’ll see when it comes out.]

“He’s doing it for a role,” I know, I know. It must take the fun out of being married to Christian Bale if he is always losing 80 pounds and experimenting with facial hair and yelling at people.

Remember that famous scene where Christian Bale wigs out over a business card? This is basically the same thing. Just real. And not ultimately ironic.
