Attention, Brooklynites: your borough has just been desecrated. Brace yourselves — you’re about to feel like residents of the Jersey Shore probably feel every time Snooki and The Situation get airtime on MTV.

I’m really digging this music video for ‘The Future’ from Jascha’s new album. It’s both beautiful and completely depressing, which is sort of perfect as the song is about lost love and based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Orpheus, the great musician and poet, must walk up from the underworld with the ghost of his love trailing behind him. If he emerges without looking at her, she’ll be resurrected. But if he turns… well, you’ll see. (via waterboundpictures.com)

From a Tumblr called Hey Girl, I Belong To The Park Slope Coop. Don’t worry…you needn’t intimately follow the sordid political machinations behind a specific food cooperative in Brooklyn to find this funny. Elitist alternative grocery stores are universally silly the world over.

Principal photography has wrapped on Spike Lee’s Brooklyn-based joint “Red Hook Summer.” The summer 2012-slated title will revive his “Do the Right Thing” character Mookie, but we don’t know if any trash cans were thrown in the making of this film. More to come. (via.) View Image ›
