TV BUZZ: Brooke Smith — better known to Grey’s Anatomy fans as Dr. Hahn — has been suddenly canned from the show, and some are claiming that it’s directly related to the fact that her character is gay. With Dr. Hahn being one half of what was the only lesbian couple on prime time television, should we expect Rosie O’Donnell to make an appearance sometime soon? (Note to Rosie: Please reprise the role of Riding The Bus With My Sister ‘s Beth Simon , in which your choice of playing “mentally retarded” meant doing a 90-minute impression of Cookie Monster).

Last night’s Emmy Awards ceremony was mostly lackluster (thanks, Howie Mandel). Despite the 30 Rock sweep and Don Rickles riffing, there were only a small handful of enjoyable moments, the best by far being the stand-off between Ricky Gervais and Steve Carrell. Also, Josh Groban - in an attempt to be “funny” - sang a cheeky medley of TV theme songs, which was ultimately terrifying, as his dead eyes prove that he’s the most lifelike robot we’ve ever seen.

Slater has managed to spur his heartthrob status into piles of money Lark Vorhiees could only dream of. As long as he promises to never bring back the jherecurl box cut .
