Yesterday, AT&T began blocking content to parts of 4Chan, including but not limited to /b/ and /r9k/. This was probably a pretty aweful Idea considering that 4Chan is notorious for the ablilty to mobilize and create problems and large scale protests both virtually and in real life. 4chan users and supporters accused AT&T of censorship and began to frame it is the first major battle in the war for net neutrality. AT&T conversely gave few answers as to why they had blocked the site, citing only ‘specific reasons’ with out any further disclosure. AT&T restored access to 4Chan early Monday, but the site continues to be blocked by Cogent Communications and is under a DDOS attack.
