Culture Buzz The Onion, tired of being treated as a second-class news source by the Pulitzer Board, has initiated a petition to be rewarded the prize this year. They're looking for 200,000,000 signatures. You can support them by checking out the “Americans for Fairness in Awarding Journalism Prizes” Tumblr, following @AFAJP on Twitter, signing the petition, or making a video voicing your support, as many others (like Tom Hanks and Arianna Huffington) have already done.

TV Buzz The Family Guy spinoff — now set to start next fall — will inexplicably feature the voice of Arianna Huffington as a bear. Like The Office spinoff, I kind of think this is still just an elaborate programming joke.
Politics Buzz Arianna Huffington terms the phrase “Born Again American” for the newfound patriotism that has been inspired by the Obama Presidential win. There were definitely times during the Bush era when I felt disappointed in my country, ashamed and embarrassed even. But the fact we were able to put someone respectable in office has really restored my faith.
Tech Buzz The Huffington Post launches the first local version of its site. We hope at some point the big sites go hyper local, neighborhood-level. Chinatown needs its own HuffPo, too.
TV Buzz Scuttlebutt that Tim Russert has had Arianna Huffington blacklisted from NBC over comments about him in her new book. There are several passages in Right is Wrong about Russert, calling him (among other things) “one of the temple guards of conventional wisdom” and a “conventional wisdom zombie.” Huffington was reportedly un-booked from two NBC shows, but she’s talking everywhere else about the tome. We love a good media scandal. Also, we just wanted to use the word scuttlebutt.
