A very interesting blog post about how hard it is to turn off moral outrage. There was a controversy over the apparent blacklisting of GLBT books on Amazon. It turns out to have been a technical problem, but people are still kinda angry at Amazon. This post is worth a read.

Amazon is removing sales rank numbers from GLBT books because they don’t want “adult” material showing up in searches and best seller lists. “Adult” material like a biography of Ellen DeGeneres. You know, hardcore stuff like that. So obviously this decision makes total sense and is in no way causing any controversy. UPDATE: Amazon has released a statement blaming the whole thing on a “glitch.” Twitter is skeptical.
