It was “Beyoncé vs. Elton John” week on “The X Factor”.
Which is maybe the best themed week that has ever been.
Before things kicked off, Nicole did this regal pose and proved that she is entirely flawless.
8. The worst performance of the night was Nicholas McDonald’s take on “Halo”.
In his VT, Nicholas explained that he’d been struggling with the song because he’s never been in love. But it soon became apparent that it was just because he couldn’t reach the notes. HE’S STILL REALLY CUTE THOUGH.
Just watching X factor and that Scottish lads performance of Halo sounded like me after a few beers singing in the shower. Horrendous!!!
7. Rough Copy sang “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word.”
And it was really boring. No one jumped around, there was very little stamping and none of them were inexplicably wearing a backpack. What a snore-fest.
Do Rough Copy get dressed in the dark?
Rough Copy’s clothes have the air of Fashion looking down a long list, saying to itself, “What haven’t I done yet?” #xfactor
6. 17-year-old Nicholas McDonald made him mum proud when he took on “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.”
This performance was much better than his first one, but it was still distinctly uninspiring. As soon as he finished, Louis helpfully reminded us of Nicholas’s age, to which Dermot replied, “We can’t forget he’s 17 because you tell us every week.” YEAH.
Forget? How the hell could we forget his age when we are reminded EVERY SINGLE WEEK. Several times. #xfactor
5. Luke Friend sang “The Best Thing I Never Had” as though it were a Mumford song.
“For me it was a little One Direction and Mumford and Sons mixed together,” said Nicole. She was right. But, then again, presumably that’s the kind of music Luke wants to be recording when this competition ends.
But why does he insist on calling his Twitter followers “friendies”? It makes me vom.
Tonight I really hope I did you proud! I want to go to the final and win this! Please make this happen by voting! Need you guys #friendies
4. Rough Copy did their best Destiny’s Child impression and sang “Survivor”.
This was good. There was a lot of energy. And there were leather shorts. But it wasn’t enough as they went out on Sunday against Luke.
But coz they wear skirts a lot, people on Twitter made some jokes. HAR HAR HAR.
I bet Rough Copy are gonna sing “If I were a boy” in their skirts..
#Xfactor I’m going to be so disappointed if Rough Copy aren’t wearing their leather miniskirts and singing Single Ladies
3. Luke Friend tied his hair up for “Something About The Way You Look Tonight”.
And showed that he’s good even when he’s not belting out Mumford-style songs with a guitar. Well done, Luke.
2. Sam Bailey did an amazing job of singing “If I Were A Boy”.
OMG IT WAS INSANE. SAM BAILEY IS OUTRAGEOUSLY TALENTED. I WANT HER TO ADOPT ME AND MAKE ME JAM TARTS EVERY WEDNESDAY.
‘More Emotion from Sam Bailey’ - the emotional debut album out Mother’s Day…
mum won’t stop talking about sam bailey from the xfactor uk……..
1. And then she made everyone cry with an incredible rendition of “Candle In The Wind”.
And although Nicole’s comments (“When I listen to your voice… oh, shiitake mushrooms, it was so bad it felt so good”) didn’t make a great deal of sense, the standing ovation she got from the judges proved just how good Sam is. You know, she just might win this.
Ryan John Butcher
BECAUSE IT’S LIKE SHE SAID “SHIT” BUT SHE DIDN’T. LOL LOL LOL. #XFactor
