A Really Brave Teddy Bear Beat Felix Baumgartner’s World Record

This bear is really good at sky diving.

1. This is a very brave bear called Babbage.

This week, he went sky diving.

2. Babbage fell from 39,000m, which meant that he beat Felix Baumgartner’s world record by 31m.

But Babbage is only a bear, so he needed some help. He was guided by a weather balloon and then released by a Raspberry Pi computer which was operated by high-altitude balloonist David Akerman.

3. Babbage’s flight was recorded by a camera which was attached to his shoulder.

“The launch and both recoveries were textbook,” Mr Akerman told the Independent.

4. AWH.
