Nas, aka Nasir Jones, was awarded the W.E.B. Du Bois Medal at Harvard University on Wednesday.

The award celebrates those who contribute to the human rights, arts, and culture important to the African and African-American community. Harvard also has a Nasir Jones Fellowship, which is given to those working on projects focusing on hip hop's history and traditions.

Congrats, Nas! You have definitely earned it.
