awful can = good. in this case, just cause it's a looped sample doesnt mean its the WORST. i like this song along with at least 1 million other people since this album apparently went platinum. it's a LOT better than the boy band crap we were being force fed at the time.

That Shifty Shellshock trolls myspace and talks to 16yr old girls? …true story…wish i still had the convo between him and my best friend…(yes it was really him, he got on a cam)…then later stopped talking to her because she finally said “aren't you that guy from crazytown?”…even he is ashamed to be in that band..

I still consider “It's Been A While” by Staind to be the worst song of the past 50 years… there are many songs/artists more awful than Crazy Train.

For those who don't know this is actually an act of genius. They are rich for rearranging a sample from the Red Hot Chili Peppers' song “Pretty Little Ditty.” Drop a drum beat, call yourself Shifty Shellshock, bone a bunch of insecure girls, sell t-shirts in hot topic, and never have to work again. Not exactly my favorite song but from a business point of view they were a huge success.

Decisions: do I listen to this song for the first time in ten years in order to be “fair and balanced” and give it an honest appraisal of it musical quality as filtered through my personal observation. -or-
close my eyes and remember vividly the white-knuckle seething hatred that filled my brain every time that song came on and the lead singer said “BA DA FLEYE!!” and then possibly unfairly disparage this song while preserving precious surviving brain cells… I am going with the hatred here. I would rather listen to a Creed/Nickleback greatest Hits combo disc for a week than hear that song one more time in my life.

I'm sure I could make something worse looping autotuned flatulence.

This clearly cheats by having an absolutely ridiculous music video to enhance the awful. But then I saw that this 'loop the same empty measure of music a hundred times' song tried to make us think it required three stringed instruments and 2 white rappers and I fully agreed with Buzzfeed.

Buzzfeed comes through.  This is clearly the worst song of the decade. And for those of you who claim to actually like this garbage, keep in mind that this page has been archived and will go into your permanent record.

I used to have a huge crush on Crazy Town, they would've have to fight Blink 182 for me though (in my deranged gayboy dreamland alternate reality).

I want to amend that. As Matt pointed out, the Counting Crows cover of “Big Yellow Taxi” is actually the worst song of the 00s. Possibly of all time, for being a double crime by ruining the original.
