Riff 11 months agoI don’t really know what to make of all the weird Orientalism in that video, especially in incorporating elements from other Asian cultures that aren’t Chinese.
I guess I can get over the fact that Rihanna isn’t Chinese, since this is just a pop collaboration. The lyrics also have nothing to do with China, unless we’re going for the whole exotic Asian woman stereotype here just to spice up yet another song about letting someone get away. Conclusion: Coldplay sucks and this video doesn’t make any sense. -

BlueSerenade 11 months agoWhat a weird collaboration. I remember the first time someone told me about this song I thought they were joking. The song itself, I feel like could grow on me if I heard it more often but my first feelings about it are… “Meh.”. The video is nice but I feel like its almost obvious Chris Martin and Rihanna couldn’t even fake chemistry for the video… It just felt stifled.
