Summer Anne Burton 10 months agoMaybe more than you think. The idea that rape is only perpetuated by evil scary hulks who were born rapists is a dangerous myth. Sexual assault is far too prevalent for that to be the case. Maybe boys who grow up not taking rape very seriously and thinking of it as a light topic for a laugh turn into boys who can’t tell the difference between consensual sex and rape. Also, what about the victims of rape likely to be in the audience of any given comedy or tv show? Should they just get over their trauma and be able to laugh it off?
