20 Images From The "Guns Across America" Protests
Nationwide, protests in state capitols drew crowds of gun owners who feel that their right to own firearms is under attack from President Barack Obama’s gun-control proposals. “Keep Calm, Carry On.”

Small gun = big junk? Also, we talking caliber of bullet or overall length and girth of gun?
What if a person has two guns? One big one small. Medium junk?
Does your logic exclude marines and other service men and women? Or just US citizens?
Unless you’re trained soldier or a cop, then you don’t need to be strapped. Why can’t you express your insecurities with a pair of crocs or a Hummer? What would I know, I’m an Australian. It’s not like we’ve had any gun-related mass killings. *cough* Port Arthur Massacre.
oh look, benjamin semens-ampler (formerly bonr) chimed in on another topic in which he knows nothing about. at least he kept it to less than 400 words this time.
The comparison of attempts by a democratically elected government body to limit the amount and type of firearms its citizens can purchase with the systematic genocide of “undesirables” is both sickening and ignorant. This country still has a problem of equating unpopular government action with history’s boogeymen, and I would be willing to wager that some of these people would agree with statements from Hitler, Stalin, etc. if they did not know the source.
Hey guys, since the proposals are to eliminate rifles, how many people get killed by rifles every year? I looked up the numbers for 2010 and it was 358. Three hundred fifty eight, versus 1700 fatal stabbings and 750 killed by “hands and feet”. So eliminating all rifles would do what?
http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-8 You are correct, it’s 367 not 358 for 2010.
Why about my right not to be scared of people with guns. Or my right to send my child to school without fear he’ll be gunned down. Guess that’s just not as important, right?
Hoplophobia is treatable. Maybe you should seek help, rather than expect to change public policy based on your phobias? Homophobia is known to lead to bad political movements, also, and we don’t tolerate homophobes, why tolerate hoplophobes?
The belief that homosexuality is evil is irrational. Homophobia is a form of prejudice which leads to bigotry against and persecution of gays. The belief that guns are dangerous is entirely accurate and rational. Placing restrictions on firearms isn’t just an acceptable course of action, it’s an absolutely necessary one. Fear and contempt of gun nuts - gun owners who proudly wear their unhealthy and reckless love of firearms on their sleeves - is entirely justified, as these people openly value their ability to wield deadly weapons over the lives of innocent people whose deaths could have been prevented. False equivalence, bro.
Politicians and the 1% don’t think guns are dangerous, though, they surround themselves with armed men. I think hoplophobia is an under reported and unappreciated factor in the debate.
i don’t even know this country anymore. What an asinine statement. Broad generalizations that only show your brainwashed pack mentality “openly value their ability to yield deadly weapons OVER the lives of innocent people whose deaths could have been prevented.” lmao if it wasnt so damn sad. Prevented how? Gun control? Basic psych dude: someone wants to kill children, they’re going to kill children. So we outlaw trees so we can avoid bows and arrows? god, just leave.
Also, tell me more about how the ownership and operation of motor vehicles is completely unregulated, because:
• requiring all drivers to have a driver’s license
• requiring all vehicle owners to register their vehicle with the government
• requiring all vehicle owners to pay a yearly tax on their vehicle
• requiring all vehicle owners to own driver’s insurance
• requiring all vehicle owners to have their vehicles inspected yearly
• setting safety and fuel efficiency standards for auto manufacturers
• enforcing speed limits
• prohibiting driving while intoxicated
would all be liberty-crushing, tyrannical restrictions which infringe on a person’s God-given right to drive.
