7 Great Things You Can (& Should) Do For Mum On Mothers Day

Mothers are wonderful. I’m sure you would agree. I have written this article to give readers an idea of what I will be doing for my Mother on Mothers Day and maybe you will get some ideas for what you want to do for your mum on this once a year occasion. You can do all or just some of the things listed below, it’s entirely your own, personal choice. I will be doing of these things this year for my awesome mum. She’s well worth it and I have so much love for her.

Breakfast in Bed

1) Make her breakfast in bed. One of the very nicest things you could ever do for your mother on Mothering Sunday is to make her breakfast and deliver it to her while she is still in bed. Try to find out what time she plans on getting up in the morning and then get up early and make her a nice bit of breakfast. You don’t have to go all out with this idea and make her a full English breakfast, although you can if you prefer. You can simply make her a couple of scrambled or boiled eggs with a couple of slices of nice toast and a hot cup of her favorite coffee. 2) Make sure you have got her a meaningful card. Now most people would wonder why I have said meaningful but a card is a card but if it doesn’t really have any meaning, it is worthless. Go for something hand-made and creative for best effects. This will let mother know that you have put a little extra effort and thought into her card. If you are like me you will also want to make sure that the company that supplies your card is doing its bit for the environment. Try to find out if they use recycled paper for their products. Do they have an environmental plan and are they doing what they can for our beautiful planet? Perfume or Jewelry

3) Along with the hand-made, eco-friendly greeting card, you will want a nicely wrapped gift that mother will absolutely love. You could choose from a large bottle of her favorite perfume or you can opt for something a little bit more expensive, like a nice diamond necklace. However, I know that most of the people reading this post may not want to spend an absolute fortune on a gift for Mother Day, but for those who can afford it, you should. She will appreciate it so much that you have given her something that has cost you something of great worth. It is your mother, after all. Remember? Your mother is the one who fed you bottle after bottle (or otherwise ☺) when you were a baby. She also wiped that stinky little posterior of yours at least once a day for several years. A Single Flower

4) Once your mum has enjoyed and finished her breakfast in bed, opened her beautiful greeting card and opened her gift of jewellery of perfume, you can then treat her even further by giving her a single flower. Don't buy a whole bunch of flowers as they don't last 2 minutes anyway and will just end up in the bin. For best effect, a single rose or other type if you prefer does just the right job and tells her you love her so very much. At the same time you are not being wasteful by getting a whole bunch of fresh flowers that will only end up in the dustbin within a few days, anyway. 5) A Box of her favorite chocolates. If your mother is anything like mine, she will love dark chocolate. Go to somewhere like Thorntons and get her a very small box of luxury chocolates. The reason I say 'small' is because we want to show consideration and not encourage her to eat something that she is probably trying to avoid much of the time. If you get a small box of luxury chocolates, because, that will do the perfect job of treating her to something she doesn't get every day. Something special.

Invite Her Out To Dinner

6) Take her out for dinner later on in the day. Ask her where she would like to go for a meal and then book a table. You can even try to make these arrangements in advance so you have everything in place. Don't forget to let her know that you would like her to spend the day with you and that you are treating her to dinner at her favorite restaurant or wherever she wants to go. Tell Her 'I Love You'

7) Tell here how much she means to you. Make sure you give her a special cuddle and a kiss. This will mean the world to her and show her that you really appreciate her. Words are worth more than all the gifts and presents in the world. You can convey a real message that your Mother is valued and appreciated and love so very much by simply letting her know how you feel about her.
