Apple's first big update to the Apple Watch's operating system became available today, after a bug forced the company to postpone its scheduled release last Wednesday.
Dubbed Watch OS 2, the OS offers some new features and slight improvements. Among the biggest: Third-party apps can now tap into the Apple Watch's hardware, and also natively on the watch, instead of being run off an iPhone. Another change: more possibilities with photos. You can now use a photo as a watch face and also view photos when you lift your wrist. Click here to read more about what else the new operating system offers.
Here's how to download Watch OS 2:
1. Make sure your iPhone is running iOS 9.
2. Open the Apple Watch app. Under "General" and then "Software Update," there should be a notification taking you to the download.
3. That's it!
P.S. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus arrive in stores Friday.
