After She Was Crowned Homecoming Queen, This Teen Football Player Kicked An Extra Point

Her team won the game, but Jodie Farnetti won at life.

A teen girl from Alabama was crowned her school's homecoming queen and then went out to kick a field goal to help her team win the game.

Jodie Farnetti is a senior cheerleader for the West Blocton High School football team, but she has been a fan of the team for a long time.

Her dad, Gregg Farnetti, is the team's longtime head football coach, and Jodie grew up going to practice with him.

"Every day I had to stay for football practice and I just kicked and I just kicked because I loved it, it was awesome to do something different," the teen told WIAT.

Jodie loved kicking so much, she told her dad that by the time she was a senior she would kick in a game for him, family friend Robin Simmons told Fox Sports.

Her dad told WIAT that dream was an "inside joke" for years, but Jodie decided she wanted to make it a reality.

She practiced constantly and was finally ready to try it. After speaking with his team, her dad agreed to let her suit up for the homecoming game on Friday.

The game was extra special because it was Farnetti's last home game as coach before he retires.

But the game was also special because Jodie had been nominated to the homecoming court. She decided to wear her football uniform for the ceremony, and her dad escorted her.

The teen was crowned queen and threw her tiara and sash over her pads.

She then went out and kicked an extra point for her team. A video of the moment was captured by a man named Brian Wallace and has been shared hundreds of times on Facebook.

Needless to say, her dad was pretty proud.

Jodie told WIAT that the moment was incredibly special, especially because her dad only has daughters.

"He'll never have a son, every day I'm sure he dreams of having a son that will be able to play football," she said. "Now he can say that, my daughter kicked in a game that we won in. It's just very special."

Football and cheer aren't Jodie's only talents. She has been recruited to play softball at a local community college after she graduates, Fox Sports reported.
