A gunman is dead after shooting and injuring two police officers at a Minnesota city hall during a city council meeting.
Some of the incident was captured on a video camera that was filming the city council meeting in the town of New Hope.
The councilman, John Elder, is a member of the Minneapolis Police Department, according to KARE.
The gunman was shot and killed after he opened fire on a group of police officers leaving the city hall after a swearing-in ceremony, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department told BuzzFeed News.
Two officers were injured by the gunfire but have since been released from the hospital, the department said.
