Sally Field Honored By Human Rights Campaign

The HRC presented the actress with the Ally for Equality Award in Washington, D.C. Watch her awesome acceptance speech, in which she discusses her son's coming out for the first time.

Sally discussed her son's struggle with his own identity and how she wanted to step in. But she learned that her duty as a parent was to support him on his journey.

Sally also thanked those in the room and those who have supported her son as well as making it easier for her to be a parent of a gay child.
