Penetration 7 months agoEllen’s take on this study is funny and adorable, but her objection to it is misplaced. The study is actually very important for gay rights: what they found was that even when rid of makeup, jewelry, hairstyles, and having people display neutral facial expressions, and having those pictures flash for less than a second, participants could still tell who’s gay and who’s straight at rates above chance. Why is this important? Because it belies the argument that gay people can avoid harassment, discrimination and bullying by “keeping it to themselves”.
