Sandbags are a flexible intermediate bulk container that's used in holding either sand, soil or gravel. They are used in a wide array of industries. Today there are four popular uses for sandbags.

Construction companies commonly use sandbags in this fashion, especially around waterfront homes. Here the sandbags are strategically placed to prevent erosion that would otherwise destroy a home and its belongings.
2. Hold Back Flooding
Flooding on highly traveled roadways can lead to accidents, erosion and other problems. To hold back such flooding, sandbags oftentimes serve as a temporary solution since they are both affordable and accessible.
3. Minimize the Impact of Explosions
Whenever the military needs to build a temporary wall to minimize the impact of explosions that they may be detonating, sandbags serve as an inexpensive means for doing so. What many people don't realize is that sandbags can be put together like brickwork yet are lightweight enough to be able to be easily lifted and moved.
4. Keep Properties Intact
Landscapers tend to use sandbags to help with properties that are facing erosion. These are a cost effective way in which to create a barrier. Sometimes they can even be found in the color green, so as to blend with the home's grass.
