TV Buzz Nickelodeon wipes away the slime as the popular kids' network celebrates its 30th anniversary. Representing its biggest change in 25 years, the new logo marks a departure from the familiar 'splat' in favor of a more standardized look. The logo hasn't aired yet, but it's appearing on material for new merchandise and the upcoming Nickelodeon Animation Festival.

Aargh!! That is the worst decision evar! That splatty slime splat sets you in an extra jolly good nickelodeon mood when you are watching the channel and if they change it into something dull then that will take away such a simple but very nice important element. I will feel that there ees something missing. :( Why ruin a good thing if you can't make it better. T_T
Well, Double Dare went off the air years ago, I guess it's time to retire the slime.
Aside from the Nick suits using the free online logo creator to come up with that “new” logo, does anyone have the original Nickelodeon song from the early 80's that was played over night when the network went off the air?…(If you didn't know what going “off the air” means, then you're probably too young to know the song.)
I always liked the slime and the splat. Kids want to be messy, it was like permission. I had Nickelodeon themed birthdays every year. Not this year Nickelodeon… not this year. *starts crying and runs away*
ew…i hate how the k is unsettlingly short but the l and d are normal sized. its like wtf did k do, ya know?
“nickelodeon: a division of The Tween Marketing Results Group” is what the new logo communicates.
Why is everyone so upset? It is reminiscent of the original Nick logo. I always hate the orange that took over in the mid-nineties.
****ing Lame. For some reason looking at just make me uncomfortable it really sucks
It's not dull - it's clean and neat. I like it! Less messy - hehe
You know, in hindsight, I'm pretty sure “Nickelodeon” was the longest word I knew until the second grade.
fixed.
All I see are penises and testicles. They must have done it for the lulz.
They sucked all of the excitement out of it. Lower case (looking) letters! What?!?
They should've went for a Helvetica logo.
So here's an idea. Let's take on of the most loved, recognisable Id's in Kids TV and, throw it out of the window in favour of something bland and generic! Good move. You could have so much fun with the splat. This is just dull.
buzzworthy!
….No. They took about 80% of the fun out of this logo by doing this in favor of a semi-bland, generic, overly-minimalistic logo. LAME! LAME TO THE MAX!
